Ever since I was little, music has always been a big part of my life. My grandma got me a mini piano when I was four and the rest is history.
The first time I ever took piano lessons was in 3rd grade. I also started to be involved in choir at this time. Though I moved to Georgia towards the end of 4th grade, I flew back to California for a competition. This was for singing, piano, and choir. I ended up placing with my solo singing and choir.
Throughout middle school, I took clarinet, guitar and piano lessons. In 6th grade, I couldn't play the piano as I had a nerve condition that took over my body. After participating in physical therapy and taking meds, I was miraculously healed (all glory to God) and could play again. Once I started playing again, I also started to take private voice lessons. I was involved on the worship team for FCA at my school at this time.
For high school, I went to a performing arts high school (CCCEPA) where I was a vocal major, vocal minor (I took acting as well). I was in the Chamber Choir and teacher's assistant in the other class period. Within our program, we took piano, theory, vocal anatomy, music history, IPA, some solo work, and sight reading. Then of course, there was choir. I attended summer programs for classical voice at Eastman School of Music, The Boston Conservatory, and Florida State University. I attended All State Chorus the last two years of High School, I also was on my church’s elementary school worship team for the first year of high school.
For college, I started to attend FSU as a Choral Music Education Major and got a job as an after school elementary school music teacher. I then changed my major to General Music. Throughout this time, I was highly involved in my church’s worship team singing and playing the guitar and keys. I was also a Spiritual Development Intern, helping the Associate Pastor. Eventually, I changed schools and majors, studying Worship Studies with Liberty University Online.
In October 2022, I moved to McDonough, Georgia to start working at Life Church McDonough as the Worship and Creative Director. September 2023, I started as the Worship and Creative Director at Passion-Life Church. I am now leading worship for multiple churches. I along with this teach voice and piano. I feel as though it is so important to help others find and develop their music skills, confidence, and diligence being developed in the process. In 2024, I graduated with my Bachelor in Worship Studies.
